SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — Branding himself a “job-creating entrepreneur and innovative outsider,” Utah Republican Jeff Burningham says he’s running for governor.
Burningham joins Lieutenant Governor Spencer Cox as the only Republicans who have officially announced their gubernatorial candidacy.
Utah has a rare opportunity to shape our own destiny instead of just letting it happen to us. It’s not the government, but the people of Utah who’ve built the most diversified economy in the country, the second-fastest-growing tech sector and the best state for upward mobility. The campaign for Utah’s next governor isn’t about yesterday’s ideas, or today’s status quo, it’s all about tomorrow’s opportunity. That’s why I’m focused on developing a smart plan for Utah’s new economy and rapid growth, getting government out of the way, modernizing education, and gaining responsible access to public lands.
